Spiritual Literary Pilgrimage to Scotland Part 1: Rosslyn Chapel & Unlocking the Time Guardians

Roslyn Chapel with Women’s Group 2016
The Grail Queens, Rosslyn Chapel, September 2016

“A journey to pray at the feet of the outcast one.”

~ Dan Brown, The Da Vinci Code

I stood in the crypt of Rosslyn Chapel with my hands hovering over an ancient carved stone. A new friend from our traveling group, Cheryl Goldenbear, invited me to tone with her. We toned in A’s, E’s, and Ah’s for only a short time when my mind’s eye opened to reveal golden strands of light emanating from within the Celtic patterns carved in the stone. The golden light moved within the stone, the chapel, and outside. It was the Christ Light!

Goldenbear also saw this light and invited everyone from our group down into the crypt to tone together in a circle. We stood in a semi-circle around the covered well, following the ebb and flow of the rhythm of our voices. The sound of monks chanting resounded from the walls.

These mystical experiences were some of the first during my trip to Scotland with a group of seventeen women and a baby. This was no ordinary travel group. We were all connected spiritually to the divine feminine and many of us were connected to Christ Consciousness or the Christ energy. We were there for a purpose. To connect with Mary Magdalene as a beautiful, powerful divine feminine holder of the Christ Light while also building a relationship with what it means to hold a grail of light for humanity.

Magical Mystical Tour

Living a magical life is an opening. An allowing of the divine spirit to move through us, inform our intuitions, and guide us on our life’s paths. Magic is truly everywhere. Most people, including myself, experience the magical essence of life in nature. There are also powerful, sacred sites on Earth that invite us to attune to the divine spirit within our consciousness and the universal spirit within all things.

The sacred sites of the Scotland Isles were calling.

Traveling from the place of a beginner’s mind allowed me to be open to the mystical experiences awaiting me. I had no idea what form these experiences would take, when they would arrive, or sometimes whether to do something about them or not. The trip was an incredible practice of being open and allowing spirit to move through me.

Alison McLean, our guide for our journey, was also tremendous support toward creating opportunities to experience mystical experiences. She chose sacred sites with particular vibrations for us to attune to, in connection with Mary Magdalene and the Christ energy. She led us on specific meditations each day before visiting a site, and she also invited us to be open to receiving divine guidance and act on our intuitions and spiritual inclinations.

A Short History

Unlike Robert Langdon, the main character in the story The Da Vinci Code, my introduction to Mary Magdalene wasn’t filled with long chase scenes through museums or following clues for murders.

However, I was on the hunt to find meaning to symbols occurring to me for a grad school project. I found her in the Boulder library. Because of my upbringing, I’d been taught about Mary Magdalene’s seedy past rather than who she was as a divine priestess. The moment I found her, I rejected her, slightly. Just as others had for centuries. Even so, I checked out the book: The Secret Teachings of Mary Magdalene and let it sit on my desk for a while before approaching. As if I was learning how to tame a wild beast.

And, perhaps I was. The wild beast was inside of me and I needed all the help I could get. At that time in my life, I was searching for my Self. Looking for the answers to the question: Who I am?

After rejecting Christianity for Buddhism, I was dumbfounded about why Mary was entering my life. Ha! Spirit works in mysterious ways with our souls tethered along for the ride.

I communed with Mary the Magnificent, for that is what Magdalene means — Magnificent. While researching the Gnostic Gospels and Song of Songs, Mary was leading me to a deeper truth about what the divine feminine meant at a cellular level. And, how the beauty of sacred union: the divine feminine and divine masculine live within all of us. All the while, she was secretly planting the seeds of Christ, as a Light, within me.

I listened. I allowed. I opened my heart to the love Mary Magdalene shared with me in the Gospel of Mary. Its history can be found in the resources below.

When I read excerpts from the Gospel of Mary, I was hooked. Here was a woman with whom Jesus loved beyond measure and who soaked up the teachings of Christ, as love and as light, into her state of being. Here was a woman to celebrate, not despise. Here was a damned woman, an outcast, sharing her Christ connection with those with ears to hear and eyes to see!

In 2016, some nine years after connecting with Mary, the opportunity came to honor Mary Magdalene and my journey with her. I sat on the toilet and cried. It was a journey of a lifetime. My soul knew it and so did my divine guides. I had to do everything I possibly could to go! With help from my parents, my Beloved partner’s mother, and my hard work; I earned passage to travel to Scotland and become a Grail Queen.

Unlocking the Time Guardians

“You’ve brought us to the wrong location,” Alison said to the tour bus driver.

We all got out at the Church of St. Mark to stretch our legs. Even though it wasn’t on our agenda. Immediately, I felt drawn to go into the church grounds. Others did as well. The plaque on the iron gate stated:

And in memory of those who gave their lives for their country in The Great War. To the glory of God and in honor of all who went forth from this parish to serve.

In 2004, twelve years before I went on the Scotland journey, I received a message from Spirit about my soul’s purpose to unlock the time guardians. Back then, I had no idea what this meant. I tried for several years to understand, but nothing presented itself until this trip.

At the Church of St. Mark, I was guided with very specific instructions from Spirit to open a time gate, a rose gate, from below the church. To awaken the guardian of this gate and align Cosmic and Earth energies in connection with Christ Consciousness as embodied by the sacred mother. To align the divine feminine axis with the earthly plane and the divine masculine axis with the cosmic plane.

By unlocking the time guardian, the Christic river flowed more freely within the ancestral lineage of all who were buried there and those who practiced the laws of the church, as well as visitors. And, any of the fallen soldiers who died during the Great War and whose souls were somehow locked in place; were released to go onward — to their journey home.

Back on the bus, I wrote about what had just occurred in my journal. Sue Moll sat next to me and asked what I was doing back at St. Mark. I was a bit shy and uncertain about whether to share or not. I kept sacred works close to my heart. This meant I often didn’t speak to what Spirit had asked of me.

(Which is also why it’s taken me six years to bring these stories to light! There is a practice known in several cultures that to share something sacred, you must be asked three times. Just a month before my divine guides asked me to share these stories, I was asked by two friends about my trip. Even though six years had gone by. I include being asked by my divine guides to write the stories, which then was backed up by my two friends, as the sacred three.)

Sue was kind and listened. She invited me to share my experience with Alison, our group leader. I pulled up my courage and vowed to do so.

Next, we arrived at the originally planned destination: an ancient church of the Templars. The only marker for the church was one resh stone in a large field of grass. A sacred site, nonetheless. After sharing with Alison my St. Mark’s adventure, she invited me to lead the group in opening the rose gate at the sacred site together.

As a group, we toned until we reached a high tonal frequency. Then, we moved in clockwise and counterclockwise circles to open the divine feminine and divine masculine energies. To form a sacred union together with the Christ light. All the while, we were also aligning this rose gate with the rose ley line of Rosslyn Church. Everyone was giggling and laughing with so much joy. Merriments of glee!

We were all the Magdalene. Carrying forth love and light.

Spiritual Pilgrimage Became Literary Pilgrimage

Writing about my personal sacred, mystical experiences causes anxiety. Mainly because the word sacred means secret. As I’ve shared, I hold these types of experiences close to my heart. And, I also know it’s important to share what’s possible in living a magical, mystical life; for those who also experience the world in this way and for those seeking a life of mystery and synchronicity.

These beginning sacred experiences in Scotland were incredible gifts. Gifts from Mary Magdalene showing me what was possible. I now had a clearer idea of what my purpose meant to unlock the time guardians. What I didn’t know until I arrived home was how my mystical experiences would turn into a fantasy science fiction series of novels.

I was called from Spirit and other sources to write the Time Guardians novels.

What I didn’t realize was how I’d been unlocking guardians for a few years at other sacred sites, more subtle and unknown near where I live in Colorado. And, in these six years since Scotland, my focus has been on writing about the Time Guardians and stargates in a fictional way. To share universal themes and spiritual journeys through the power of story.

Stay tuned for the next parts in my Spiritual Literary Pilgrimage to Scotland. Where I will share about the Holy Isle of Lindisfarne and The Great Mother for Part 2. Then, gifts from the Isle of Iona andan enlightening experience with a starbeing for Part 3. And, conclude with an ecstatic experience at a sacred area known as the Christic Academy to then share what it means to be a Grail Queen in Part 4.
